Wind Ensemble

Overture to Candide by Leonard Bernstein-- Avery challenging and fast paced piece full of energy and vigor.

Appalacian Spring by Aaron Copland--An exerpt for the ballet; very calm that goes into a majestic fanfare towards the middle and then returns calm.

Profanation by Leonard Bernstein--A very complex piece that expresses the anger that Bernstein felt during this period of his life.

Gershwin! by George Gershwin--A medley of Gershwin songs including "Embraceable You", "Somebody Loves Me", "I Got Rhthym" and more.

American Salute by Morton Gould--based off of "When Johnny Comes Marching Home"

Stars and Stripes Forever by John Phillip Sousa--Probably Sousa's most well known march.

Jazz Band

Groovin' Hard by Don Menza--Slow and melodic featuring a saxophone solo

Uptown Stomp by Larry Neeck--Very lively and upbeat; the beginning is reminiscent of "Sing, Sing, Sing."

The Mooche by Duke Ellington--Slow piece featuring solo trumpet and a clarinet trio/solo.

Chamleon by Herbie Hancock--Very cool piece with a rock feel to it

Sing, Sing, Sing by Louis Prima--Probably his most famous work; extremely popular. The drum set solo was first used in this song.

Espirit de Corps by Robert Jager -- My personal favorite, part of it got cut off though. Don't worry, most of it is repeated at the end of the song.

Manatee Lyric Overture by Robert Sheldon -- Our Freshman Concert Band performed for the very first time, accompanied by the Wind Ensemble.

Jazz Band

Four by Miles Davis -- Cool piece.

The Beatles -- "Sergeant Pepper" and "Hey Jude" rolled into one song.

Percussion Ensemble

Stinking Garbage -- GARBAGE CANS RULE!!! This piece has become quite popular throughout the school and the community.
